Tsukuba Collaboration-Boost Project

Algae produce a variety of antioxidants. In particular, β-carotene has a strong antioxidant effect, but is a fat-soluble substance, so its application is limited from the viewpoint of delivery. In this project, we will solve the problem of delivery by converting echinenone, which has high antioxidant ability, into nanoparticles. In addition, we will verify the effectiveness of following 2 items. 1) suppression of digestive tract injury caused by antiplatelet drugs, and 2) promotion of recovery of motor function, and make these into intellectual propety. Since oxidative stress is associated with 85% of diseases, the drug has various uses and its purpose of development is significant.
